Giving thanks!!!!

There are soooo soooo many things to be thankful for this thanksgiving. I just can't help but be in awww at the blessings in my life like little cowgirls who despite living in the city still is a cowgirl at heart.....

As you can see she is really resourceful....no lasso....daddy's tie....ultimate lasso. :D I am so thankful for a little girl that has an imagination.

I am so thankful for a husband that treats me like a queen even those days when I am looking far from queen-like. Proof of this comes from a little girl that knows what her daddy thinks of her mommy. The other day I came in and she was playing barbies and she had a boy and a girl and the boy said to the girl ....in Marisa's words... "hi my beautiful wife" and then she made the barbies kiss and then dance. Which I am so thankful is pretty typical in the oveson home.

Going on those lines I am so thankful for families and the blessing that is in my life. Especially that we have the Gospel and know the blessing that a family can be in our lives.

I am thankful for a girl that is leaning the Gospel. She dressed her baby in her blessing dress and said that she wanted her baby to be blessed. It was one of those moments that you feel like you are doing an ok job as a parent.

I am so thankful for 3 year olds and funny things that they say....for example the other day we put up curtains and Marisa was helping Seth by handing screws to him and then he would install them into the curtains. I came back in the room and Marisa said "mommy look daddy is screwing up the curtains" to her that meant that daddy was putting up the curtains but i couldn't help but laugh.

I am so thankful for holidays....and for a husband and child that gets so excited about Christmas that we officially have our tree up before thanksgiving....I justify it by the fact we won't be here for thanksgiving. So it has been so much fun doing that as a family. Tonight for family home evening we are making the ornaments to go on the tree because we broke alot of our ornaments so we have to make new ones.

Marisa got so excited that she even had to have Christmas music...and if there is music she has to dance!!!

I am thankful for christmas and the oppertunity we have to remember our savior and others.

I am so thankful especially for a wonderful husband!!!! I know I have said that so many times in my blog but it is sooooooo true!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Look at what happened not far from our house

So we had enrichment last night and it was so much fun. The theme was overcoming the evils of the world mentally, physically, and spiritually. For the mental part we did personality tests, physical part we did self defense and the spiritual part got canceled because on of the ladies that was going to give it was in the area that was on lock down. Check it out http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/nov/13/code-enforcement-officer-shot-aurora-gunman-loose/
This was in our ward boundaries. A cop got killed and the killer is still at large. Crazy hu!! Thank heavens for blessings on homes and the spirit. All in all we had a great time. By the way any of you out there if you have to do invitations for enrichment the invitations this time were a big hit. On the outside of the envelopes I wrote Top Secret and the letter was written like mission impossible...and ended of course with...this message will self destruct in 15 sec. It was so much fun because it is amazing to see what happens to women when then don't know what is inside and envelop that states top secret. We had a fantastic turnout...by the way shout out to all that helped and participated. I just thought it was funny that we were learning self defense on the same night a cop was killed in our area and was still on the run.....love it!!!

I voted....

So a sigh of relief is what i feel today as the election is completed. I am excited that people can get back to normal and be friends again with no concern of who is voting for who or what amendments to or not to vote for but back to the basics of love, kindness and friendship..... Ok so I know this is kind of a funny post but my one reassurance about all of the election and results is that the Lord knows what he is doing and I think is so happy when we all really try to help our country. It was funny to watch and look back on all of the happenings. I think the funny thing is that with members of the church I don't think I can even count on my fingers and toes the number of political debates/fights that I happened to overhear. (I am not personally a big debater) But it is nice to know that we can all come together and be unified in supporting the next president of our country....I would hate to be in his shoes!!!! That is a pretty big job trying to run the country to the best of his abilities and do what he thinks is right even though there are thousands maybe millions who oppose him. So I have no idea where i am going with this post but I am so glad that I can be alive at this time and be able to vote and do what I know is right no mater what is going on around me. I do also have to admit this is the first time that I have ever voted for the president and even though sometimes you feel like an itsy bitsy fish in a ginormous ocean your vote still counts.
I Voted!!! :D

In need of serious family time...

Life has been crazy with Church callings and all of the things that we have been working on....running everywhere and doing some great things but all pretty busy. So needless to say it was time to have some serious family time. So we have been making our own family little spurts of time together. Our favorite past time since it is starting to get cold is making smores with our fire from the fireplace. It is so much fun. Marisa now asks all of the time if we can have a fire even if it is warm in the house....i think mostly so she can cook a marshmallow. And ofcourse it was so cute i just had to take a picture.

This one totally cracks me up because I am not sure she was happy about standing next to these guys. At least from the picture it dosen't seem so.

We also went to BOO at the ZOO. It was so much fun they had all kinds of candy stations all over in the zoo. It was so funny because we were all dressed up and we ran into a few kids dressed up as scooby Doo that wanted them to get their pictures with us. It was so funny. So we are officially in random peoples photos. We kind of got a glimmer of what it would be like to be a character in Disneyland. It was so much fun to be all dressed up together and spend time looking at animals talking and Smiling so big every time someone said how cute Marisa looked. I will say it is funny dressing up as character that are a little older. The younger kids just stair at you with this confused look because they are not sure what you are dressed up as but know that you are someone. The middle and older folk know in a moment. If you haven't dressed up as a family I would totally recommend it. It is so much fun!!! :D

The Happenings....and a little halloween preview

OK so here is our Halloween preview.....this year we all decided that for family photos we would dress up as a family. Hopefully from Marisa's costume you can tell what we are going to dress up as. When I get the photos back I will post them.

We have kept ourselves busy with projects and other fun activities. I was so excited because Seth let me get a magnetic board and I made magnets out of flowers. I love it because now we are a little more organized and have somewhere to put messages and other things...and it is cute to boot. I know kind of silly to be excited about a magnetic board....but it is just so fun to have our house put together it just gets me in the crafting mood. OK so we are not finished yet with all of the home repairs but the front room it totally finished so that is where it has all started.

He He.

So this last weekend we had a spooky party at our house. We had a bunch of new people move into the ward and we wanted to have a party to have fun and get to know them all better. So we went wild and found some great recipes online. These were great because we had a couples party and it really made them think about eating them. It was so much fun. As you can see all of the couples dressed up. It was great!!

This was one of my favorites it was Rainbow sherbet and lemonade and sprite which made this really gross color...add a few eyeballs and it was perfect!!!

The Decaying Head really made you think twice about eating it but it was really good. Guacamole, cream cheese, and black smoked ham. Very yummy but there is something about taking a cracker and filling it with stuff off of a head that just dose something to your ability to put it in your mouth. It was fantastic!!! :D

It was so fun to get to know the couples better and have a great night!!! It was funny too because we normally don't do much for Halloween but it was the perfect opportunity to get to know others in the ward.

Quirk Tag....

Ok so I am a little slow on the taggs but here goes nothing...devulging into the funny quirks of the ovesons.

quirk [ kwurk ] (plural quirks) - odd mannerism: a peculiar habit, mannerism, or aspect of somebody's character
quirk·i·ly adverb
quirk·i·ness noun
quirk·y adjective
Just in case you were not sure what it really ment

Food Quirks- The oveson household it great at the odd food combinations. The personal favorite of seth's is Bread and Ranch. There is no fancy way of eating it besides ripping the bread to pieces folowed by a great plung into this masive pile of ranch. Ok so it is not as exciting as it sounds. As for me I think it is the most facinating thing in the world because I will suggest all different kinds of really yummy foods to eat for dinner and it is followed with a restponse of "I just feel like haveing bread and ranch. The other funny thing is you will never know if the hamberger or sandwich will be eaten in sections or all together. You never know what you will get at the ovesons house. The food always gets eaten though.

Sleeping Quirks- So I have decided all of the clocks are on diferent times at our house. As for seth he starts to get tiard at 9 and up at 5. As for me I get tiard at about 10, 11, sometimes 12 but in the morning I am Zombee Women wich really gets in touch with the halloween spirit but dosent work so well during the rest of the year. Now Marisa is another subject I think hers is a bit broken somtimes because some days it is 8 other days it is 12 so some day mabie all of our clocks will be on the same time but as for now it is just a little crazy.

Orginazational Quirks- So I have to admite I am a freek of nature. If there is a cupbard, closet, drawer, you name it if it is not orginized I start twitching if I look at it!!! Infact we went to help put things into a storage garage fore someone in the ward and you couldn't even get in there. No walkway in the middle it was one huge mass of unused things!!!! I became this masively crazy whirlwind stacking moving things just so I could see part of the floor and get to the back. It is like something goes off in me that says fix this. Go figure. Infact in seths sock drawer he has black socks and gray ones and they are seperated into color and seth gets the biggest hoot when he is helping me with laundry to put the socks on the wrong side or fold them in a different way. I know total nerd. What do you do??

Shoe Quirk- So seth has this funny quirk where he feels like he has to have shoes on constantly!!! Including our daughter. It makes me laugh becuase if you know me I am without shoes most of the time!! Infact even if it is snowing outside. Those are the best kinds of feet to put on your husbands legs!! he he :D Infact it is funny to tease him and take his shoes and socks off and watch him twitch. It is funny how you tease the other about there quirks but you wouldn't change them for the world.

Clothing Quirk- Seth absolutly hates whearing shorts and as for myself I could live and die happy in shorts, tee shirts and pajama bottoms. Infact my favorite pair of pants are blue and white striped 70 style mens warm up pants from carbon high...you know the kinds that are made of pure poliester and super thick!!! They are awesome. I will say that seth has converted a bit because they are some of his favorite pants to whear as well on a saterday afternoon. Yes we have fought over pants...I guess that is probably something that mabie you are not sapose to admit that you and your husband can where the same pants but it is really funny that we have fought over the same pair of pants before.

Cleaning Quirks- this is how it works in our house. When we clean the house seth cleans everything that is big and just makes it so that you cant see it anymore. Then I come behind him and clean things you know vacume, dust, clean windows, etc. You know more then just the really big things. We make a great team.

So now you know the truth only fare that you share!!! (thanks for the tag Steph!!...that was really funny)
So I saw this on a freinds site and I just had to do it!!! You look up the anwsers on google image and you take the first photo...or the second...ok so somtimes I took the third because some of them are scary. So here goes..
