Carbon Branch Service Activiy

Saturday was a pretty busy day.  We woke up super early and got all of the things together for the Spanish Branch Activity.  Seth was in charge of this activity for cinco de mayo and the city was having a clean up so we decided to combine a bit with the city.  It was so amazing because we had such a good turn out to help clean up.  The kids were working even.  It was so fun to have all of us working together to help make the city look better.  I will say you can defiantly tell that we cleaned the areas that we did.  I was not super helpful after Thursday Seth made me sit alot of the time so I was the bag lady and I basically held the bags that were empty and the bags to put garbage in while I was sitting.  I will say that is not the easiest thing to do....sit during a service project.  But everyone worked really hard!!!

Skyler even had his little shovel and loved working beside his daddy!!

I was so proud of Marisa she was quite the whirl-wind.  She took her little rake and made piles in the gutter.  Then she would move up further and make another one.  She is one little girl that knows how to work.  I never got any photos of it but when she was little and we were in Denver I think she went to more moves then most of the men in the ward.  She would help bring out all kinds of little things from the house and she was always on the move.  I am so glad that she learned the meaning of the word service and work at such a young age and that she continues being such an amazing girly!!!

After Cleaning up from 9-11:30 we headed over to the park to set up.  The city was providing food for everyone that participated in the activity and the branch provided kids games for all the kids.  So we set up a fishing pond, ring toss, ping-pong ball toss, dig for treasure and I did balloon animals.  It was so fun....and we had some great helpers with the kids games.

The Missionaries  Elder Bennion and Elder Ayala manned the fishing pond.

Awesome members from the branch and on this right far end a Guatemalan family that we have been able to get to know recently!!!  They are so great.  It was so fun to see them at the activity too...we invited them but were not sure if they would come because they are not members...but it made my day to see them there.  (We have come to know 3 Guatemalan families here in price that are all not members but we are now friends with....it is sooooo goood to have Guatemalan food again!!!  I had a Guatemalan tamale just the other night...YUM!!!)

Brenda manned the dig for treasure.  We took the shavings and put them in the turtle along with little prizes.  I sure do love this girl.  We would go walking all the time and she has been there for me so many times!!!  I love this girl!!!!

cant tell marisa had fun hu:D

I have decided I need to practice my balloon making again.  I have forgotten alot.  It was fun to make fun things out of balloons again  :D  Is everyone amazed I have posted more photos of me prego then I have with any of my other ones....lol

These are the two missionaries that are now in our house.  We sure do love these missionaries.  Even though this area is a little rough sometimes they still work so hard and really try to do what is good and right!!  We love them!!!

We got a few fun photos.....

It was really such a great day and it was so nice to have that many from the branch show up to serve the city and the children in the city!!!

Spanish Branch Youth Activity

As some of you may know I got called to be the YW president for the branch.  It is kind of funny because I have decided that I get callings into the youth programs only when I am about to pop or just popped!!  Yep last time I had a new little one too!!!  I feel like I am having a repeat in life.  But anyways I am pretty excited about the chance to be in the YW again and by the way the new Personal Progress Books are Amazing!!!   I love love love them!!  So the last little bit I have been working on getting my YW medallion it has been a really fun adventure.  Anyways this last Thursday we had our first ever activity for the youth in the branch.  I was a little worried that we would not have tons there but I was super surprised when we had 8 youth!!!  We don't have very many that come to church so I was so happy to see 8 at our activity.  For our first activity we played frisbee golf and I wanted to put a little gospel flair to it so at each hole I had a photo of a different story from the Book of Mormon that said who am I and what is my story.  If they could answer right they got to take off 1 swing for each right answer.  Most of them did not know the answers but it was fun to tell them the story and the name of the person.  At the end of all of the holes we took them back inside and we had a bonus round.  I then asked them the same questions for each photo and the first one who could tell me got to take off the swings off of their game.  It was such a great night!!  I really did feel like I was repeating history in my life though.  Seth and I had the amazing opportunity to get to know the youth from the coal creek branch and just this last week we got an amazing letter from one of our "boys" that is on a mission right now.  I love the youth of this church and I love how even though they may not seem like it they can really be gospel sponges!!  It was a really fun night.  (side note....putting all of the signs out and all of the things that I did for the activity put me into labor.  I started having contractions....lol.  Needless to say I have been taking it a bit more easy the last few days.  Only 2 more months and we will have a new little baby girl!!!  I cant wait)

Skyler and his buddy!!!

This little guy now has a new little friend that he loves to play with.  Buzzyear with his light sward and his trusty sidekick super Abagail rabbit :D  He will take this rabbit everywhere and this rabbit is so patient.  We have only been scratched a few times and Skyler has held this rabbit in all kinds of ways that one little boy can do.  I love how she is laying on her back just hanging out.

Two months and counting!!!!

So so excited that we are only 2 months away from another little oveson comming!!!  I just cant wait!!!!
