surprise!!!

So this whole adventure started Fri night Seth got home and was smirking and was acting a little strange.  I had dinner ready and was planning on going to enrichment but he was acting really funny.  I did not know what we were doing but it made me wonder the way he was acting and he also told me that I should bring my camera.  Which made me wonder what we were doing for the activity or if he was planning something else.  I got to the church and......surprise!!!!  Which I was.  These amazing sisters in our branch planned a baby shower for me.  I sure do love being in the branch and how much love and kindness they always show!!!  So fun to have more extended family  :D

One of the games that they did is they gave everyone names that were things that you use for a baby and you had to name that person by that name or you got a Binky...

I love this gal!!!  One of these days I will be as amazing as she is.  She was the brains and did alot of the work for this shower.  We have had many early morning work outs and so many fun times together!!  It was so nice of her to bring all of this together!!

Another game was one where we had to pick out the mini safety pins out of rice....it may look easy but let me tell you that it is not an easy task

Another game that we did was the toilet paper game.  This made me laugh because the one that got it right was someone that I spend lots of time with on Thursdays!!!  She got it perfectly right!!

All I have to say about this game is yuck!!!!   I felt serious desires to throw up a few times.  Especially during the taste tests....yuck!!!

This cake was made by a lady that I have gotten to know because of the Missionaries...she is from Guatemala!!!!  And man can she cook.  She is still investigating the church which is so fun to watch...she made this 3 milk cake....and oh it is so good that I can not make cakes this good because I think I would eat the whole thing!!!

These are most of the amazing sisters that were there.  I cant even tell you how much I love these sisters and how fun it has been to learn from each and every one.  I am so excited the one that is on my right in brown is getting baptized today!!!!  She is such and example to me and it has been so fun to watch her grow in the Gospel.  Hopefully I will have some super fun photos of that tonight.  But I am super excited for her. 

It was so sweet of each of them...this little baby is going to be the cutest baby on the block!!!  I have to say I love baby clothes there is somethings so so super cute about pink too!!!

It was so much fun and I cant even express how sweet it was for them all to come and throw this for me.  It is kind of funny too because this was the first surprise party that I have had thrown for me.  I was super surprised and felt very touched and loved!!! I love our branch!!!

Fun with youth!!!

Thursday has become one of our fun busy days.  We get to have fun every Thursday with our youth.  This last Thursday Seth took his camera with him so we actually got some photos.  We played Croquet and planned for future activities.

This is my partner in crime!!!  She is so amazing and it is so fun working with her.  You could not find a better family anywhere.  Besides the fact that we always have so much fun at mutual no mater what we are doing....I have never had so much fun in a calling with someone. 

this is our old man...lol.  He is so much fun and always makes me laugh. 

I have to say that I love the fact that Seth and I have had so many opportunities to work together in church callings.  Some of our favorites are working with the youth.   But because he is the councilor in the branch presidency that is over the youth the fun duo is together again having fun every Thursday night with amazing youth and leaders.

Happy 4th!!!

This 4th was a pretty mellow one as far as they go...daddy needed to study so we hung out so he could study besides the fact that I was not feeling super adventurous.  So we got on our 4th duds and we decided that we would go out to eat for fun at one of Skyler's favorite places to eat...taco time!! 

 

This fourth was pretty unique for grandma and grandpa too.  My dad just had surgery just a few days before (for two hernias)  so they stayed home too.  So we had a little barbecue.  It was really fun just to hang out.

Because of the fires that are so close they banned fireworks except for one spot in price from 8-12 but we did not even go over there. (1000 dollar fine for anyone doing fireworks...so we figured we would save our sparklers for another day...lol)   It was a pretty unique 4th for us but we had lots of fun hanging out as a family!!

We finished!!!!! Read the book of mormon in 100 days

So we did it!!!!  It was so cool our stake issued a challenge to read the book of Mormon in 100 days and they gave us a book that had quote for every day.  So we decided that we were going to do it all together as a family.  I will say that this was a challenge for this Oveson clan.  We were use to getting through a page or a chapter a day because of the patience of certain little people.  So we were a little sceptical that we could actually do it because it was 2-3 chapters a day.  Also part of it was during the time that daddy was out of town alot so we wondered how we would be able to do it.  Thank heavens for phones that have unlimited Mobil to Mobil so we could read on the phone for about an hour a day at night.  It has been such an amazing challenge!!!  I do have to admit that we got behind a few days here and there but we would take alot of family home evening time or Sunday afternoon or read morning and night before the kids went to sleep.  I have to say this has been one of the best experiences for our family.  It is kind of fun the baby has heard the book of Mormon all the way even before she was born....lol.  It is really funny to hear my sons play time these days....it involves lots of Laminites and wars and fighting and talking about the spirit!!  I kind of wondered some times how much he actually got out of it.  After hearing him play he for sure is getting things from this amazing book.  I learned so much this time.  Things that I had not even thought about before.   All I have to say it I love this book and it is so fun to feel the spirit every time that I read and know that this book comes from someone who knows me so well and knows exactly what I need to hear and understand.  Thank heavens for Prophets that were obedient to their calling and kept and recorded in this book so I could feast every morning!  And this time we really got to FEAST!!!

Yep WE MADE IT IN 100 DAYS!!!!

Yes we are on the count down!!  One week tomorow...we are so super excited to get a new little member to our family.  I know it seems like yesterday that these two were little and tiny.  We will see what our newest little one looks like.

This weekend we had some fun adventures with family.  My dad got sergery on friday which went really well and what was fun is dan and steph came down too.  My brother opened his mission call and he was called to Orlando, Florida!!  But it was a great weekend...we were a bit lazy not counting the times that seth was studing or in the night time when I was reading him flash cards.  He has one more test to past and he will be done!!!  He takes his test on this saturday.  He really wanted to have it taken before the baby comes.  But anyways we had fun playing with family and hanging out.  We were not super active because grandpa just had sergery and I think I would get the role for the Stay Puffed Marshmello women right now...lol.  8 more days!!!!  Yes it is scheduled the 10th of July we will have a new little oveson!!!   I did not get tons of photos this weekend but I did have fun taking photos of this cute little family....

Once I get a few more photos of the mission call opening I will post those too!!  Wish us luck this week while we get ready for a test and welcoming a new baby girl.  :D
