What happens when you get chain saws working......

You go and cut a tree down!!!!

Yep this was our first tree cutting experience.  It was quite cold but we were adventurous.  We would drive and the kids would point out ones that they liked and then we would start walking.  Some of them looked great from the road but when we got closer was way, way to big.  Others looked great but just on one side. The kids all gave there opinion until it started to get dark.

Then we finally agreed on one.  We are the what I would call charlie brown tree type family.  We like them pretty small and not to big or tall.  We stayed by the tree while daddy went for the chain saw.

We did have a few technical difficulties but in the end we were able to cut the tree...

By the end Mersadie was pretty done with the whole experience....oh poor baby!!! 

and of course our favorite part....decorating the tree!!! 

I remember so many times as a little kid going out to pick a tree.  It was such a fun adventure and we always had a really good time together as a family!!  It was really fun to have the same fun memory with my own little family!!!
